Overview

The Early Childhood Assistant supports children’s daily learning, care, and participation in a welcoming classroom environment. This role combines attentive caregiving with teaching support, helping children engage in age-appropriate activities and feel included throughout the day.

Duties

- Assist with classroom activities, learning routines, and transitions, encouraging children to participate and explore.
- Provide attentive caregiving and support children’s daily needs while maintaining a safe, respectful setting.
- Adapt interactions and activity support to help children with varied abilities participate meaningfully.
- Communicate observations and relevant updates with colleagues to support consistent care and learning.

Requirements





Required: Practical caregiving, clear communication, and the ability to support children’s participation in classroom routines and teaching activities are essential. Patience, attentiveness, and a respectful approach help create a positive environment for children with varied needs. Preferred: Classroom experience, early childhood education, and experience working with children or individuals with disabilities are valuable. Related teaching or caregiving experience can strengthen your ability to contribute to children’s learning, daily care, and inclusion.

Pay: $21.60 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
