Material Handler – Permanent Full-Time
Location: Burlington, Ontario
Pay: $23.64–$27.85 per hour, based on experience
Shift Premium: Additional $0.80 per hour

Schedule: 12-hour continental shifts, rotating between days and nights every two weeks
Staff Plus is recruiting two experienced Material Handlers for permanent full-time opportunities with an established industrial manufacturer in Burlington.
This position is ideal for a safety-conscious and dependable material-handling professional who is certified and experienced in operating counterbalance, reach and Combi forklifts within a manufacturing, warehouse or logistics workplace.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Receive, inspect and verify incoming materials against shipping and receiving documentation.
- Safely load, unload, move and store raw materials, finished products and production supplies.
- Operate counterbalance, reach and Combi forklifts in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
- Supply production areas with the required materials while preventing workflow interruptions.
- Complete internal material transfers and accurately update inventory records.
- Pick, stage, count, weigh, sort, pack and prepare materials for production or shipment.
- Maintain accurate receiving, shipping, inventory and material-movement documentation.
- Assist with order fulfillment and ensure products are properly labelled and traceable.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, discrepancies or damaged materials.
- Support cycle counts and other inventory-control activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe warehouse and production environment.
- Participate in 5S, Lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement activities.Work collaboratively with production, shipping, receiving and warehouse team members.
- Perform additional material-handling duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid certifications for counterbalance, reach and Combi forklifts.
- Practical experience operating all three types of equipment in an industrial environment.
- At least one year of material-handling, warehouse, logistics or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience supporting shipping, receiving, inventory control or production operations.
- Ability to complete documentation accurately and maintain material traceability.
- Strong attention to detail, organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to follow work instructions and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical and Scheduling Requirements
- Ability to work a 12-hour continental schedule that rotates between days and nights every two weeks.
- Day shifts begin at 7:00 a.m.; night shifts begin at 7:00 p.m.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and perform repetitive physical activities throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to wear all required personal protective equipment.
