Our fleet includes tank trucks, combo-vacs, hydro-vacs, high pressure jetting equipment, scrubbers, and other specialized service equipment supporting oil and gas operations across Northwest Alberta.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Service Writer to help organize, schedule, document, and track maintenance activity across our fleet.

The right person will be a key connection point between the maintenance team, management, and dispatch. This role will help make sure work orders, defects, repairs, parts requirements, unit status, and documentation are properly captured and communicated. It is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys structure, problem solving, and building practical workflows from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

- Create, update, and manage maintenance work orders.
- Coordinate repair priorities, preventative maintenance, and service schedules.
- Communicate unit status, downtime, and repair updates to dispatch, management, and the maintenance team.
- Work closely with mechanics, and shop supervisors to ensure repair information is accurate, complete, and actioned.
- Ensure maintenance history, repair timelines, notes, parts requirements,



and supporting documentation is updated accurately within the system.
- Support inventory and parts coordination by identifying parts needs, communicating with the Parts Person, and helping keep work orders moving.
- Assist with the rollout and day-to-day use of GFL systems, including building workflows with the maintenance team.

Required Experience and Qualifications

- 2 to 3 years of experience in service writing/maintenance coordination, fleet administration, or a similar role.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy shop and operations environment.
- Baseline heavy equipment knowledge and a practical understanding of maintenance workflows.
- Comfortable learning and working in digital maintenance systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high standard for accurate notes and follow-up.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work with limited supervision.
- Able to build and foster positive working relationships with mechanics, dispatchers, managers, and operators.

Assets

- Experience with heavy equipment, especially tank trucks, combo-vac units, hydro-vac units or similar oilfield service equipment.
- Experience with fleet maintenance management systems.
- Previous oilfield, trucking, or industrial service experience.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
