About Furqaan Project Canada

Furqaan Project Canada is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making the message of the Quran accessible by distributing The Clear Quran® and Islamic educational resources. As North America’s largest Quran distributor and one of its largest dawah organizations, we have distributed over 6 million copies through our broader North American Quran distribution initiative. We collaborate with mosques, Islamic organizations, educational institutions, and community partners to advance Quran outreach and dawah.

Position Overview

The Fundraising & Outreach Specialist will strengthen mosque relationships, expand local community partnerships, secure fundraising opportunities, and coordinate events throughout the assigned region. The position works closely with the National Development Team and involves regular regional travel.

Key Responsibilities1. Mosque & Community Relations

- Build and maintain relationships with mosques, imams, Islamic centres, boards, and community leaders.
- Conduct mosque visits and meetings, develop new partnerships, and maintain existing ones.
- Secure Friday appeals, Ramadan campaigns, lectures, and other fundraising opportunities.

2. Fundraising & Donor Engagement

- Support fundraising campaigns and work toward agreed event booking and fundraising targets.
- Identify new donors, sponsors, community supporters, and fundraising opportunities.
- Assist with donor engagement, appreciation, follow-up, and performance improvement.
- Collect donations in cash, by cheque,



and using organization-provided payment terminals; securely document and submit all collected funds in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

3. Event Planning & Execution

- Plan and execute fundraising events, speaker tours, mosque appeals, and outreach activities.
- Coordinate with mosque representatives, speakers, volunteers, and internal teams.
- Prepare event materials and logistics, support on-site operations, and complete post-event reports.

4. Volunteer Engagement & Networking

- Recruit and coordinate volunteers and establish a dependable regional volunteer network.
- Represent Furqaan at community gatherings, Islamic conferences, and outreach initiatives.

5. Reporting & Performance

- Maintain accurate CRM records for mosque visits, meetings, contacts, and opportunities.
- Provide regular progress reports and meet agreed outreach, event, and fundraising targets.
- Follow all organizational procedures and reporting requirements.

Qualifications & Skills Required

- Strong communication, relationship-building, organization, and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of Muslim communities and Islamic institutions in the assigned region.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, approach community leaders, and meet targets.
- Basic proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and digital collaboration tools.
- Valid driver’s licence, reliable access to transportation, and willingness to travel within the assigned region as required.
- Flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, Fridays, and Ramadan activities.

Preferred

- Experience in fundraising, community outreach, nonprofit work, sales, or relationship management.
- Experience organizing events, coordinating volunteers, or using CRM/project management systems.
- Existing relationships with local mosques or Muslim community organizations.




- Presentation/public speaking skills and relevant education or equivalent experience.

- Competitive Compensation Package based on experience and qualifications.
- Coverage of approved travel and transportation expenses, including mileage, parking, and tolls.
