Position Summary:

The Walkway Labourer is responsible for the manual snow and ice removal of walkways, stairs, entrances, and other pedestrian areas. Working under the direction of the Walkway Crew Lead, this role supports site safety and accessibility by performing shoveling, salting, and general clean-up duties. Labourers must be reliable, physically capable, and available to work in all weather conditions throughout the winter season. This position also involves assisting with other seasonal tasks such as construction work, yard cleanups, and various duties as required, including renovations and the relocation of the business to a new farm property.

Key Responsibilities:

- Report directly to the Walkway Crew Lead
- Perform site checks and follow crew lead instructions as required
- Monitor weather conditions and remain ready to respond as needed
- Remain on-call 24/7 during the contract period, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including snow, freezing rain, and extreme cold
- Shovel and salt walkways, stairs, entrances, and railings as required by the property
- Complete full site clean-ups as directed by the crew lead or operations staff
- Refill salt bins and monitor material levels onsite




- Assist with staking of properties, snow stake removal, minor winter damage repairs and storm drain clearing as needed
- Record and report daily site activities or issues to the Operations Manager via WhatsApp chat
- Winter team members will remain on shift to support other team members until they have completed their duties
- Participate in additional duties such as property maintenance, cleanup, and construction projects

Qualifications:

- Experience in snow removal or outdoor labour considered an asset
- Ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a crew
- Robust understanding of safe snow and ice removal practices for pedestrian areas
- Physically fit and capable of performing repetitive shoveling and lifting tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and available for on-call work
- Strong work ethic with attention to safety and detail
- Comfortable working outdoors in all types of winter weather

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 per week
