Fire Suppression Technician Job Overview

The purpose of this position is to inspect, service, maintain, repair, and install portable and fixed fire extinguishing equipment, fire extinguishers, fire suppression equipment and fire hoses.

Responsibilities and Duties
Performs annual and semi-annual maintenance and repairs on various fire suppression equipment, e.g., kitchen suppression systems, fire extinguishers and fire hoses, Novec 1230 systems, Inergen systems.

Qualifications

The individual must be mechanically inclined. On the job training will be provided.

Experience in the following kitchen fire systems is an asset

· Kidde Fenwal

· Ansul

· Pyrochem

· Guardian

· Range Guard

Physical demands

While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended amount of time and some heavy lifting may be required.
