Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and customer-oriented individual to join our convenience store team for afternoon shifts. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating the cash register, restocking merchandise, receiving deliveries, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing daily store operations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service to all customers.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Operate the cash register and POS system accurately and handle cash, debit, and credit transactions.
- Restock shelves, coolers, refrigerators, and merchandise displays.
- Bring products and supplies from the basement storage area to the upper floor for stocking and replenishment.
- Lift, carry, and move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs (approximately 23 kg) while following safe lifting procedures.
- Receive deliveries, verify products, organize inventory, and place items in their designated locations.
- Rotate products and regularly check expiry dates.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including shelves, floors, counters, coolers, and storage areas.
- Clean and maintain washrooms as required.
- Replenish beverages, snacks, tobacco products, and other merchandise according to store policies and applicable laws.
- Handle cash responsibly and report any cash discrepancies to management.
- Monitor the store for theft, suspicious activities,



and safety hazards.
- Follow age-verification procedures for restricted products.
- Complete assigned stocking, cleaning, inventory, and general maintenance tasks.
- Follow company policies, health and safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable store environment.
- Complete shift handovers and communicate important updates to the next employee or supervisor.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by store management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- English Language Requirement: Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers and follow workplace instructions.
- Must be reliable, punctual, honest, and responsible.
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, particularly for part-time positions.
- Must be friendly, approachable, and comfortable interacting with customers throughout the shift.
- Must have good communication, basic mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be comfortable handling cash and operating a POS system or willing to learn.
- Must be physically capable of performing stocking duties, including lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs (approximately 23 kg), with reasonable accommodation where required.




- Must be able to safely transport merchandise from the basement storage area to the upper floor.
- Must be available to work afternoon shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous convenience store or retail experience is an asset but not mandatory.

Minimum Employment Commitment

- Applicants must be willing to commit to a minimum of one (1) year of employment.
- This requirement applies to both part time and full-time positions.
- Applicants must demonstrate consistent attendance, reliability, and a willingness to maintain a stable work schedule.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, and stock merchandise.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs (approximately 23 kg), using proper lifting techniques and available equipment.
- Ability to transport stock from the basement storage area to the upper-level sales floor safely.
- Ability to work in a busy retail environment with regular customer interactions and stocking responsibilities.
