Our client, an exploration and development company, is looking to grow their team of geologists for their principal asset located in Northern Ontario.

Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Exploration Geologist will work with the company’s geological team and drill contractors, responsible for field work, core logging, geological mapping, and drilling.

This role is ideal for someone interested in a remote role with a reasonable rotation schedule, comfortable camp set-up in an established lodge with good food, and an opportunity to work with a small crew.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage and support diamond drilling programs, including drill logistics, coordination and day-to-day field activities.
- Complete detailed geological core logging, sampling and documentation to support exploration objectives.
- Conduct geological mapping and field exploration activities in remote project locations.
- Collect, interpret and organize geological and exploration data, identifying relevant geological features and mineralization.
- Work closely with drilling contractors, geological teams and other project personnel to ensure exploration programs are completed safely and efficiently.
- Support a variety of hands-on mineral exploration activities, working both independently and collaboratively in remote field environments.

REQUIREMENTS

- 3+ years of experience with all aspects of a diamond drilling program




- Relevant post-secondary education; PGO designation an asset
- Managing diamond drilling logistics
- Geological mapping experience
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Commitment to safety, health and the environment.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detailed oriented with good organizational and interpersonal skills (team player)
- Ability to work well independently
- Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
