Just Sales Jobs
Vancouver
As an Inside Sales Representative, you will sell thermoformed plastic products — horticulture trays, benches and racks, industrial storage, planters, and custom-manufactured plastic parts — to industrial and commercial buyers across Western Canada and the United States. You will sell primarily to purchasing departments, operations and senior leadership. This role is 70% new business development and 30% account management. Leads come from prospect lists supplied by the product and marketing teams, worked through high-volume outbound calling. You will start by booking and joining discovery calls with the Sales Manager, then move into closing your own deals. This is an existing role, adding a second rep to the team, reporting to the Sales Manager. The base salary is $70,000 – $80,000 CAD.
COMPENSATION & ADVANTAGES
- $70,000 – $80,000 CAD base salary
- Health benefits plan
- Laptop and cell phone provided
- 10 vacation days, 5 sick days and 5 personal days per year
- Further education reimbursement
- Employee recognition and rewards program
- Company social events
THE COMPANY & CULTURE
Our client was founded in the early 1980s and is a privately owned, single-owner manufacturer with approximately 40 employees. Based in Surrey, British Columbia, they produce large-gauge, large-format thermoformed plastic parts through two divisions: a Commercial Product division that makes and sells its own products off the shelf, and a Custom Manufacturing division that builds parts to customer specifications. They are currently launching new product lines and expanding their custom business. Many employees have been with the company for 5 to 10 years or more, and the team describes the culture as close-knit and supportive. Sales, marketing, product and engineering work side by side in one location. Clients include second-tier vehicle manufacturers, the US military (custom work) and hydroponic equipment distributors. OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY
- Head Office: Surrey, British Columbia, Canada
- Work arrangement: Office-based, full-time in office to start
- Sales territory: No geographic territory — accounts are assigned by product line and campaign; customers are mainly in Western Canada and the United States
- Selling is done by phone and email
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. No evening or weekend calls required.
- Overnight travel: Occasional — 2 to 3 times per year
EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- B2B inside sales or phone-based sales experience, with a proven track record of high-volume outbound call days
- Experience closing deals yourself — this is not an appointment-setting-only role
- Industrial or manufacturing industry background is required; plastics, thermoforming or custom manufacturing experience is a strong asset
- Technical aptitude: comfortable discussing materials, features, specifications, pricing and minimum order quantities, and explaining technical details to non-technical buyers
- Experience running consultative discovery and qualifying conversations — unscripted, not checklist-based
- Experience selling to purchasing departments, operations managers and business owners
- An engineering or technical education is an asset
- Order-desk, counter-sales or single-product call centre backgrounds are not a fit for this role
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Zoho CRM — strong working knowledge (Zoho experience preferred; any CRM required)
- Microsoft Excel — Intermediate
- Microsoft Word — Intermediate
- Microsoft PowerPoint — Intermediate

- Custom orders typically range from $50,000 to $150,000
- Target accounts generate about $250,000 per year
- Sales cycle runs from 1 to 4 weeks up to 3 to 6 months, typically 6 to 8 conversations to a first order
COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES
- Domestic West Coast manufacturing
- Large-format thermoforming equipment that few competitors have
- White-label manufacturing services

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES
- 70% New Business Development
- 30% Account Management
On a typical day you will be on the phone for most of the day, calling prospects from company-supplied lists, qualifying needs, specifications, pricing and order quantities, and booking discovery and estimate calls that you join with the Sales Manager. You will manage and grow your own accounts, log every call and all information captured in Zoho CRM, and work against aggressive daily activity targets. After each new product outreach campaign, you will summarize market feedback, key findings and warm leads and present them to the sales, marketing and product teams.
LEADS
- Initial prospect lists of about 75 to 100 names for each new product, built by the product team
- Additional vertical-specific lists produced by marketing
- A new custom manufacturing outreach list every month, under a quarterly campaign
- All lists are loaded into Zoho CRM
- The majority of your time will be outbound calling to these lists — high phone activity is a core expectation of this role
OVERNIGHT TRAVEL
- Occasional — approximately 2 to 3 times per year
- Travel is for trade shows, training and select client visits; it is not part of regular day-to-day selling
SUPPORT & TRAINING
- Training led by the Sales Manager, who has an extensive technical and consultative sales background, including the horticulture industry
- Job shadowing on live sales calls, then joint calls with the Sales Manager
- You start on ready-made commercial products before moving into custom manufacturing conversations
- Product training provided; length depends on your background
- You will be on the phones from your first weeks, and move into closing on your own as your product knowledge builds
WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY
- A clear path from outbound prospecting into full-cycle selling with your own accounts
- Direct, daily coaching from an experienced Sales Manager on live calls
- Your market feedback shapes which products the company launches and pursues, and is presented to company leadership
- An established manufacturer of 40+ years, now launching new product lines
- A long-tenured, close-knit team with Monday to Friday hours and no evening or weekend calls
