Wills Transfer
Brockville
Great operations start with great people leadership.
At Wills Transfer, we know that running a successful warehouse takes more than keeping products moving and shipments on schedule. It takes a leader who can bring people together, set clear expectations, build accountability, and create an environment where employees feel respected, supported, and motivated to do their best work.
We're looking for a Warehouse Manager who is equally passionate about people and operational excellence. Someone who doesn't shy away from difficult conversations, who takes pride in developing their team, and who understands that a positive workplace culture is built through everyday actions.
If you're the kind of leader who believes that how we achieve results matters just as much as the results themselves, we'd love to hear from you.
The Opportunity
As our Warehouse Manager, you'll take ownership of the overall performance of our Brockville warehouse operation, ensuring we consistently deliver secure, efficient, accurate and reliable service to our customers.
You'll lead and develop our warehouse leadership team, establish explicit expectations and accountability, and coordinate the people, resources and operational priorities needed to deliver results across the warehouse.
This is a role for someone who can see beyond the challenges of the day. You'll use performance data, operational insight and sound judgment to anticipate needs, solve recurring problems, improve processes and build a warehouse operation that performs consistently.
Just as importantly, you'll be responsible for developing capable leaders, fostering a positive and accountable workplace culture, and ensuring our company values are reflected in how we work.
At Wills Transfer, we believe great managers don't just deliver results themselves. They build teams and systems that consistently deliver results together.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Lead, Coach & Develop Your Leadership Team
We believe great warehouse operations are built through strong, capable and accountable leaders.
- Directly lead, coach and develop warehouse employees, establishing explicit performance expectations and consistent standards across the operation.
- Provide regular feedback, recognition and development opportunities while addressing attendance, conduct, performance and interpersonal concerns promptly, fairly and professionally.
- Build employee capability through effective onboarding, training, and cross-training.
- Identify and develop employees with leadership potential, building the internal capability and succession needed to support future growth.
- Foster a positive, respectful and accountable workplace where employees understand expectations, feel supported and take pride in their work.
- Establish effective delegation, communication and operational routines that enable employees and emerging leaders to take ownership of daily activities.
- As the operation evolves,
provide leadership and development to Supervisors and Team Leads who may assume responsibility for portions of the warehouse operation.
Own Warehouse Performance & Operational Excellence
You'll be accountable for ensuring the warehouse operates effectively as a whole—not simply managing the activities of a single shift.
- Oversee warehouse operations, coordinating labour, workflow, receiving, shipping, inventory priorities, equipment and transportation requirements to meet customer commitments.
- Establish operating priorities, staffing plans and resource requirements that support safe, efficient and reliable service.
- Monitor and analyze warehouse KPIs, including productivity, inventory accuracy, service performance, labour utilization and operating costs.
- Investigate performance variances, identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Forecast near-term staffing and capacity needs, manage labour deployment and overtime, and ensure resources are used responsibly.
- Build effective working relationships with Customer Service, Transportation, Inventory, Maintenance and other departments to maintain coordinated operations.
- Serve as a key operational contact for customers, proactively addressing service concerns and resolving recurring issues.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen productivity, accuracy, efficiency and overall warehouse performance.
Champion Safety, Quality & Operational Accountability
- Establish and reinforce consistent expectations for safety, quality, operational procedures and customer-specific requirements.
- Hold warehouse leaders and employees accountable for following established safe work practices and operating standards.
- Ensure warehouse systems, SOPs, documentation and inventory controls are applied consistently across the operation.
- Review incidents, operational concerns and compliance findings, ensuring corrective actions are completed and sustained.
- Promote a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and proactive risk identification.
- Make sound operational decisions that balance employee safety, customer commitments, service quality and business performance.
What You'll Bring to the Team
First and foremost, we're looking for someone who knows how to lead through others, build accountability and take ownership of operational results.
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- People Leadership & Development: Proven ability to coach, develop and hold leaders and employees accountable while building a positive and productive work environment.
- Operational Ownership:
The ability to see the bigger picture, anticipate challenges and take responsibility for overall warehouse performance.
- Performance Management: Experience using operational KPIs, labour data and performance trends to identify concerns and drive improvements.
- Planning & Resource Management: Strong judgment in balancing staffing, productivity, capacity, customer requirements and operating costs.
- Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: The ability to move beyond immediate fixes, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments, engage customers and navigate challenging conversations.
- Accountability & Integrity: A consistent, fair and principled approach to setting expectations, making decisions and following through on commitments.
- Change Leadership: The ability to guide teams through changing priorities, new processes and operational improvements.
You'll also bring:
- Progressive leadership experience in warehouse operations, distribution, logistics or a related environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading warehouse teams, managing employee performance and taking accountability for broader operational results. Experience developing Team Leads or Supervisors is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse workflows, inventory management, shipping and receiving, and operational safety requirements.
- Experience monitoring warehouse performance, managing labour resources and controlling operating costs.
- Confidence using warehouse management systems, operational reports and performance data to guide decisions.
- Experience supporting customer relationships and resolving operational service issues.
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
