Job Title: Accounting Specialist

If a clean aging report and a perfect three-way match make your day, we should talk. We're looking for an experienced AR & AP Specialist who can step in right away and keep both sides of the ledger moving on a temporary assignment of about 2–4 weeks, with the possibility of extension. You'll work fully onsite in Burnaby, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, as part of a Finance team reporting to the Financial Controller. You'll own invoicing, cash application and collections on the receivables side, and vendor invoices, expenses and payment runs on the payables side, and you'll turn those processes into clear, well-documented SOPs. You'll work closely with the Sales and Shipping teams, so your work keeps orders, shipments and payments in step. Accounting Specialist Responsibilities

- Generate invoices and credit notes and maintain the billing system.
- Process and post customer payments (cheque, credit card, wire transfer) and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Communicate with customers about balances, credit applications and payment schedules; follow up on delinquent accounts.
- Process vendor invoices and employee expenses, and run AP remittance runs.




- Reconcile the AR and AP ledgers and manage the aging reports.
- Assist the Financial Controller with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
- Coordinate with Sales and Shipping to align invoicing with shipping, and receiving with payables.
- Create, document and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for AR and AP processes.

Accounting Specialist Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing and account reconciliation (must have).
- Hands-on experience with Sage 50 (must have).
- Excellent Excel skills (must have).
- Proven documentation skills, including creating SOPs (must have).
- Experience applying receipts to open invoices, processing credit notes and completing three-way matches (PO, receiving, invoice).
- Background in the manufacturing, printing or packaging industry is preferred.
- Strong organization, accuracy and time-management skills, with close attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Available to start immediately and work fully onsite in Burnaby.
- 2–3 skilled references.
