The Better Together Group is recruiting an AZ Shunt Driver for our Milton-based client. If you’re a safety-focused driver with strong backing skills and enjoy keeping a busy yard running smoothly, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Safely move and position trailers within the yard and at dock doors.
- Couple and uncouple trailers, ensuring all connections are secure.
- Complete pre-trip inspections and report equipment defects or safety concerns.
- Communicate with dispatch and warehouse teams to coordinate trailer movements.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer locations and movements.
- Follow yard procedures and maintain awareness of pedestrians, equipment, and other vehicles.
What You Bring
- A valid Ontario AZ driver’s licence.
- Previous shunting or tractor-trailer backing experience.
- A safety-focused driving record.
- Confidence maneuvering trailers in tight spaces.
- Robust communication skills and a dependable approach to work.
- Ability to consistently report for a 3:45 a.m. start.
