Innocent Ice Cream is an independent Vancouver ice cream shop specializing in gluten-free ice cream sandwiches, with dairy and plant-based options.
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Store Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations, with the opportunity to advance into a General Manager role.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop store employees
- Manage recruitment, hiring, onboarding and performance reviews
- Prepare staff schedules and manage labour costs
- Oversee inventory, ordering and stock levels
- Monitor sales, expenses and operational performance
- Maintain food safety, product quality and customer service standards
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs
- Resolve customer concerns and operational issues independently
- Work alongside the team, including preparing all menu items
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of direct employee management experience in hospitality, food service or retail
- Demonstrated experience with hiring, scheduling, training and performance management
- Experience managing inventory, ordering and labour costs
- Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, make independent decisions and take accountability
- Comfortable working independently and alongside frontline staff
- FoodSafe Level 1 certification, or willingness to obtain it
Compensation & Benefits
- $26–$27/hour starting wage, based on experience
- 40 hours per week, year-round
- Primarily daytime shifts, 1-2 evenings per week on occasion
