Seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join Pippen AI, a fast-growing health tech startup with strong traction and a proven track record.

Why Work Here:

You will be joining a health tech startup that is already making a big impact. We are a certified AI Scribe vendor (approved by leading healthcare organizations). We are at the revenue stage and growing fast (over 18x growth in the last 6 months). The mission is critical: we believe it is wrong for doctors to spend a third of their time on paperwork. We are solving this problem to ensure that doctors focus their efforts entirely on direct patient care. By joining us, you will be making a direct impact on this mission and see the benefit in real-time. As a senior software engineer, you will shape the technical implementation of this bold vision.

Our Tech Stack:

Frontend: Next.js, TypeScript

Backend: NestJS, Node.js, Docker

Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB

DevOps: Terraform, Azure, AWS

Platforms: Web applications, Electron desktop applications, Android and iOS mobile applications, Chrome extensions

Integrations: Real-time communication protocols, AI-driven services

The Problem We’re Solving:

Family doctors are spending a third of their time on unpaid administrative work—typing notes, drafting referral letters, filling out forms, and figuring out billing codes. It’s leading to burnout, reduced access for patients, and a broken system. Our goal: eliminate the paperwork problem so that doctors focus entirely on direct patient care.

Why This Role Matters:

We're expanding our team to accelerate the development of our intelligent systems platform. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll work end-to-end across the stack - designing and implementing robust backend services, delivering polished frontend experiences, ensuring real-time responsiveness, and contributing to the evolution of our microservices architecture. You will directly contribute to our R&D; efforts focused on solving real-world technical challenges that have not been solved yet.

What You’ll Do:

- Architect and develop scalable, production-grade services across the stack using TypeScript, NestJS, Node.js,

and modern frontend frameworks.
- Build and maintain high-quality, user-facing features that enable real-time workflows for clinicians across our web application, Electron desktop application, Android and iOS mobile applications, and Chrome extension.
- Implement and manage real-time data processing with WebSockets.
- Design and optimize database schemas and queries for both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) systems.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and clinical stakeholders to deliver intelligent, impactful features end-to-end.
- Lead the development and maintenance of microservices, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Contribute to DevOps processes, including infrastructure as code with Terraform and deployments on Azure and AWS.
- Mentor junior engineers and uphold best practices in code quality, system design, and engineering standards.

You Might Be a Fit If You

- Have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with experience building and owning full-stack applications in production environments.
- Are proficient in TypeScript and have hands-on experience with Next.js and NestJS frameworks.
- Possess a deep understanding of WebSockets and real-time communication protocols.
- Have hands-on experience with both relational (PostgreSQL) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases.
- Are well-versed in microservices architecture and have experience designing and maintaining distributed systems.
- Take ownership of problems end-to-end, demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, and can work independently in a fast-moving environment.
- Have experience with DevOps tools and practices, particularly Terraform, Azure, and AWS.
- Can work across different platforms, including web applications, Electron desktop applications, Android and iOS mobile applications,

and Chrome extensions.

Bonus Points If You

- Have experience integrating or building products that leverage AI-driven services.
- Are familiar with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Have contributed to open-source projects or have a strong portfolio showcasing your work.

Perks & Compensation

- Market-competitive salary and equity options.
- Flexible working hours and a fully remote environment, with the option to work in-person from our Toronto office (if preferred).
- Real opportunities for professional growth, technical leadership, and increased ownership as the company scales.
- A collaborative, low-ego engineering culture that values thoughtful design, high standards, and continuous learning.
- The chance to work closely with a small, motivated team building a product that has real-world impact in healthcare.
