Job Overview

The Bricklayer’s Helper supports bricklayers with the preparation, movement, and organization of materials and tools on construction, renovation, and restoration projects. This hands-on role helps keep masonry work areas orderly and tasks moving safely and efficiently.

Duties

- Prepare and organize bricks, mortar, and other materials; keep work areas transparent and assist with site cleanup.
- Carry and position materials, mix mortar as directed, and support bricklayers with routine masonry tasks.
- Use hand tools and power tools appropriately, following instructions and established site safety practices.
- Review blueprints or schematics with the crew, assist with caulking and renovation or restoration work, and support heavy equipment operation when directed.

Qualifications

Required: Practical ability to handle materials, follow directions, maintain an orderly work area, and use hand tools safely; willingness to learn power tool use and interpret basic project instructions is important. Preferred: Construction experience, especially exposure to masonry, blueprint reading, or schematics, is helpful. Familiarity with renovation, restoration, caulking, or heavy equipment operation can also support the crew’s work. Working near the Heritage LRT Station.

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
