We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Laundry Aide to join our Environmental Services team in a long-term care setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing residents’ clothing, linens, and other laundry items while ensuring proper laundry care, cleanliness, and compliance with infection prevention and control procedures.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively as part of a team while respecting residents’ rights, dignity, and privacy.
Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute residents’ clothing and linens.
- Follow established commercial laundry procedures and proper linen care practices.
- Identify and treat stains using appropriate products and techniques.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laundry area.
- Follow infection prevention and control guidelines and all health and safety procedures.
- Follow WHMIS requirements and safely handle laundry chemicals and cleaning products.
- Respect residents’ rights, privacy, dignity, and personal belongings.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and departmental policies.
- Work cooperatively with other team members to ensure efficient operations.
- Assist with housekeeping duties when required during emergency situations.
