Job Overview

Sushi On Edmond is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and motivated Sushi Cook to join our kitchen team.

The ideal candidate takes pride in preparing high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and food safety standards. We are looking for someone who works well in a fast-paced restaurant environment, communicates effectively with team members, and demonstrates a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

- Prepare sushi, rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese menu items according to restaurant recipes and standards.
- Prepare and organize ingredients for daily kitchen operations.
- Maintain consistent food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and food safety procedures.
- Keep kitchen stations, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure timely and accurate orders.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Follow instructions from kitchen supervisors and management.
- Assist with general kitchen duties and daily preparation as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:





- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization.

Preferred:

- Previous sushi restaurant or Japanese cuisine experience.
- Experience preparing sushi, rolls, sashimi, or other Japanese dishes.
- Previous restaurant or commercial kitchen experience.
- Food Safety Certification (FoodSafe Level 1 or equivalent).
