Job Summary
Happy Valleys is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Budtender to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for cannabis and a strong background in customer service and retail sales. As a Budtender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, educating them about our products, and ensuring compliance with all regulations. Your ability to communicate effectively and create a welcoming environment will be key to enhancing the customer experience.
Duties
- Assist customers in selecting cannabis products that meet their needs and preferences.
- Provide detailed information on product strains, effects, and usage methods.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties.
- Maintain an organized and clean display of products through effective merchandising.
- Upsell products by understanding customer needs and making appropriate recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all local laws and regulations regarding the sale of cannabis.
- Manage inventory levels, including filing and restocking as necessary.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance overall store operations and customer satisfaction.
- Engage in heavy lifting as needed for inventory management.
- Communicate with Management on a daily basis, ensuring all needs for the store are transparent.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is necessary.
- Familiarity with cannabis products required.
- Consumer of Cannabis is required.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual or multilingual candidates (including French) are highly desirable.
- Proficiency in computer operation and basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Leadership qualities that contribute to a positive team environment.
- Ability to follow instruction, and the ability to reach out when unsure about said instruction.
- Transportation a plus, but not required.
- Clear Criminal Record Check a must before start date (cost to the candidate).
- Smart Choices Certification a must by start date (cost to the candidate).
