We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and motivated Construction Estimator to join our team.

The ideal candidate must have strong experience in concrete formwork estimating, construction drawings, quantity takeoffs, and cost analysis. Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and the ability to effectively utilize AI tools to support estimating and administrative workflows are essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for concrete formwork construction projects.
- Perform comprehensive material and quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam Revu.
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Calculate concrete quantities, formwork areas, labour requirements, equipment needs, and material costs.
- Identify and evaluate new tender opportunities through construction bidding platforms, general contractors, and industry contacts.
- Manage the tendering process, including reviewing bid invitations, preparing quotations, submitting proposals, and tracking tender deadlines.
- Prepare competitive bids, quotations, and tender submissions within established deadlines.
- Analyze construction drawings and project specifications to identify scope requirements, discrepancies, potential risks, and cost implications.
- Obtain, review, and compare pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and management to ensure accurate estimates and project requirements.
- Review tender addenda, change orders, and drawing revisions, and update estimates accordingly.




- Follow up on submitted bids and quotations with general contractors and prospective clients to obtain feedback, monitor bid status, and identify potential project awards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of tender opportunities, submitted bids, follow-up activities, bid results, and project status.
- Utilize AI tools and digital technologies to improve estimating efficiency, document review, reporting, and administrative processes while verifying the accuracy of outputs.
- Assist with project budgeting, cost comparisons, value engineering, and estimating database maintenance.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in concrete formwork or structural concrete construction.
- Mandatory: Advanced working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu for quantity takeoffs, measurements, drawing review, and estimating.
- Practical knowledge of AI tools and their applications in construction estimating, document analysis, and workflow improvement.
- Strong understanding of the complete construction tendering process, including identifying opportunities, reviewing tender documents, preparing estimates, submitting bids, and conducting post-submission follow-ups.
- Experience estimating concrete formwork for foundations, columns, walls, slabs, beams, and other structural concrete components.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret architectural, structural, and construction drawings.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, labour productivity, equipment requirements, and associated costs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience preparing tender submissions, bid proposals, quotations, and construction budgets.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, problem-solving,



and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and the ability to meet tight tender deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to coordinate with general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tenders simultaneously, and maintain organized estimating records.
- Familiarity with Ontario construction practices and the Greater Toronto Area construction market is an asset.

Preferred Skills

- Previous estimating experience with ICI (Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional) concrete formwork projects.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and other construction estimating software.
- Understanding of shoring, reshoring, scaffolding, and concrete formwork systems.
- Familiarity with construction scheduling, cost control, and project management practices.
- Experience reviewing construction contracts, tender requirements, and change order pricing.
- Experience using digital tender management platforms, bid tracking systems, and AI-assisted productivity tools.
