Friends Club Child Care is looking for an experienced, caring, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator (Level 3) to join our wonderful team as a Preschool Lead Educator!

About the Position

We are looking for a confident, responsible, and experienced Preschool Lead Educator who can independently manage a busy preschool classroom and provide excellent care and learning experiences for children ages 3–5.

The ideal candidate is a solid leader, an effective problem-solver, and an excellent communicator who is comfortable taking initiative and handling daily classroom responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Independently manage and supervise a preschool classroom, ensuring children's safety, well-being, and positive behaviour.
- Plan, prepare, and implement engaging, creative, and developmentally appropriate daily activities.
- Effectively manage classroom routines, transitions, and group activities.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and confidently handle challenging situations.




- Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents, discuss children's progress, and address concerns when they arise.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Maintain a positive, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Complete daily documentation and ensure compliance with Alberta childcare licensing requirements.

Requirements

- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 3 certification – mandatory.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an early childhood education setting.
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children (3–5 years).
- Current First Aid in Child Care certification.
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Strong spoken and written English skills.

Schedule

- Monday to Friday ( 7:15 am – 11:00am , 12:30 - 4:45 pm)
- Full-time, permanent position
- In-person work at the school site
