Summary

As a Functional Leader at GoodLeaf Farms, you will play a vital role in overseeing daily operations within our innovative vertical farming facility. This position is crucial for ensuring that our mission of delivering peak freshness to our customers is met while maintaining a safe and effective work environment.

Operations:

· Ensure appropriate food safety practices are adhered to

· Work hands-on to ensure goals are met and completed in the daily packaging of products

- Ensure process documentation is completed with accuracy and attention to detail based on expectations of metrics and KPIs from the organization
- Participate in the improvement of packaging practices and development of SOP’s
- ·Train and mentor current VFT’s in the department
- Support the implementation of LEAN Manufacturing/TPM
- Monitor and control waste, downtown, efficiency and OEE
- Be responsible and accountable for the KPI/ metrics of packaging department by monitoring and recording the proper data
- Perform other production or sanitation duties as assigned
- Actively collaborate in the implementation of continuous improvements project in the area
- Follow practices that enable GoodLeaf Farms to achieve production goals
- Maintain the area clean and organized during and at the end of the shift (5S)
- Perform light and basic maintenance to the equipment (calibration, adjustments, etc.) as needed
- Perform sanitation duties to clean the equipment and area when time is available





Safety:

- Protect the safety of a team of the VFT’s by following safe work practices and leading by example
- Adhere, safeguard and comply with the Standard Sanitization Operating Procedures, Standard Operation Procedures, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Good Manufacturing Practice always and without exception
- Follow GoodLeaf Farms Employee Practices and Food Safety Policy and Occupational Health and Safety Policy
- Report unsafe and faulty equipment, fixtures, and processes to supervisor
- · Other duties as assigned

Requirements

- Willing to work a continental afternoon shift and able to work flexible hours
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in agriculture, food processing, or manufacturing
- Able to stand for long periods of time, lift objects of 50lbs, and work at heights if applicable (safety training provided)
- Demonstrated professional reliability, a strong work ethic, and minimal absenteeism
- Completion of post-secondary education is always an asset but education or certification in a relevant field is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and some level of comfort with industrial equipment and tools
- Communication and problem-solving skills
- Has reliable means of transportation.
