Full-time permanent ECE II Room Leader position with opportunity for an upcoming Term Supervisor position.

Position Summary:

BH Beginnings is a licensed childcare and early learning program operated by Balmoral Hall School for girls. Our early learning program consists of two classrooms for girls aged 2-4 years old. BH Beginnings is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Educator (ECEII) whose primary responsibility is the education of the children in our unique program, as well leading and inspiring the other ECEs and CCAs in the classroom as the Room Leader. The successful incumbent will be required to work with a team of educators to implement a Reggio-inspired, emergent curriculum that meets the needs of all the children in our program (knowledge and experience with Reggio-inspired programming is crucial).

Unique Features of BH Beginnings:

Rooms Leaders are responsible for...

- Leading a numeracy and literacy-based daily Morning Meeting
- Conducting biannual Parent Teacher meetings
- Completing progress report cards throughout the year that communicate the children’s physical, cognitive, and emotional development
- Collecting and displaying Reggio-inspired pedagogical documentation to be displayed at special family events, and assisting with the planning and implementation of these family events




- Working collaboratively with other Balmoral Hall School staff including the junior school principal, the librarian, the physical education teacher, the kindergarten teachers, and other student support staff

Leadership Opportunity:

In addition to this permanent full-time role, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to undertake a temporary Supervisor assignment beginning in the spring, which would involve overseeing both nursery classrooms and offers flexible shift hours and 3+ hours of daily admin time.

Requirements:

- Early Childhood Education Diploma / ECEII classification
- Current first aid and CPR
- 1-2 years' experience working in a licensed childcare setting
- Must be willing to provide a clear Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Registry Check obtained within the last 6 months
- Must be available work an 8-hour shift anytime between the hours of 7:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. (shift times may vary).
