General Manager - Crestmont Homeowners Association (CHOA)
The Opportunity
Are you a visionary leader who understands how to build a vibrant, connected community? The Crestmont Homeowners Association (CHOA) is looking for a General Manager who doesn’t just manage a facility and its revenue but takes full ownership of the community experience. We need a visionary who can think critically and creatively to enhance resident value while maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.
About Us
The CHOA is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to enhancing the lifestyle of just over 1,000 households in Crestmont. We own and operate the Crestmont Hall , featuring a spray park, playground, and vibrant community spaces. We pride ourselves on maintaining premium green spaces and providing high-value programming for our diverse, family-oriented membership.
The Role : Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will be the face of the CHOA and the primary driver of its success. You will manage the day-to-day operations, which includes all aspects of facility rentals. You will provide leadership for our part-time events staff and—crucially—oversee the various external contractors who provide the Association's maintenance, landscaping, and specialized services. This is a role for a proactive individual who treats the Association’s goals as their own and is eager to grow alongside the organization.
Responsibilities
- Entrepreneurial Leadership : Identify and execute "next-level" community concepts and revenue opportunities that resonate with our demographic of active families and professionals.
- Facility and Rental Management :Lead the hall rental process, including conducting tours, managing bookings,
and ensuring a premium experience for all guests
- Organizational Growth : Proactively identify operational inefficiencies and propose up-to-date, effective solutions to improve service delivery.
- Contract & Vendor Management : Act as the lead negotiator and manager for third-party contractors, ensuring that all service providers meet the high standards our residents expect.
- Strategic Funding : Research and secure municipal and provincial grant opportunities (e.g., CFEP, CIP) to fund facility upgrades and community-building initiatives.
- Board Advocacy : Serve as a professional advisor to the Board, providing data-driven recommendations and ensuring the Association remains a leader in community management.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience with a focus on contract management and community building .
- A proactive, "go-getter" attitude with a proven ability to take initiative without constant direction.
- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Recreation Management, or a related field.
- A natural relationship-builder who can advocate for the community.
- Strong financial acumen
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and recreation/booking software
- Successful completion of a police check and vulnerable sector check.
Compensation & Hours
- Salary Range : $60,000 - $80,000 per year (commensurate with experience).
- Schedule : 37.5-hour work week.
Why Join Us? This is an opportunity to be the architect of community culture in one of Calgary’s premier neighbourhoods. If you are a high-energy leader who loves to build, innovate, and see a direct impact from your work, we want to hear from you.
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
