Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Oil Burner Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing oil burners, and related mechanical equipment. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient operation of heating systems across various settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the comfort and safety of our clients. A strong foundation in plumbing, boiler systems, HVAC, and mechanical knowledge is essential for success in this role.

Duties

- Install, inspect, and service oil burner systems according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals to identify root causes
- Perform routine maintenance on boilers, HVAC equipment, appliances, and other mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct plumbing tasks as needed during installation or repair processes
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs and installations
- Repair or replace faulty components such as valves, pumps, burners, or electrical parts with precision
- Maintain detailed records of all service activities, inspections, repairs,



and parts used for accountability and future reference

Qualifications

- Valid Oil Burner Technician License (Nova Scotia) — required
- Red Seal endorsement in Oil Heat System Technician preferred
- Proven experience installing and servicing oil and gas heating systems (residential and/or commercial)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver quality work
- Commitment to workplace safety and professional conduct
- Assets: Hydronic/radiant experience, controls knowledge, or additional mechanical tickets
