The Position

The Scalehouse Operator is responsible for weighing trucks and accurately preparing tickets for the material purchased. They are also responsible for taking phone orders and scheduling trucks from time to time.

Duties and Responsibilities

Scalehouse Responsibilities:

· Receive telephone requests for product information, to place orders, adjustments and cancellations directly from customers

· Scheduling internal and external trucks to ensure we can meet customer order requirements work with Operations Manager to ensure drivers and trucks are available and for what jobs

· Weigh trucks using customer vehicle weights when necessary

· Operate the Weighmaster system to accurately create orders, check/tare in trucks and produce weigh-bills/tickets for the shipment of goods

· Accurately record all tickets on daily dispatch sheet

· Complete End of Day balancing of daily dispatch sheet with Weighmaster report and daily sales report of product sold

Administrative Duties

· Answering phones, transferring calls, helping customer requests, etc.

· Aggregate billing





· Scanning paperwork and tickets to be sent to head office billing department and work with billing to help complete all aggregate billings accurately and timely

· Scanning tickets and emailing or mailing to customers along with their invoices

· Entering and posting of garage work orders to specific equipment as completed

Qualifications:

· High school diploma

· Ability to perform basic computer functions and operate computer software (Weighmaster, Outlook, Excel, Navision)

· Basic mathematical skills, including basic arithmetic functions and common units of measurements

· Positive communication skills and customer service to take orders from customers in a professional and friendly manner via phone and/or in person

· Capable of working independently while maintaining cooperative working relationships with customers, co-workers, and supervisors

· Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor, keep required work schedule, focus on attention to details and follow all rules and policies

· Prior experience in construction, mining or professional office environment or knowledge of products, industry terminology is a plus

Working Conditions

Qualified applicants must be able to handle the demands of the job. Longer hours may be required during the busy season; which may include weekends.
