About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and versatile General Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of upkeep and repair tasks across their facilities in and around Kimberley, Northern Cape . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation and presentable condition of our client's properties. The ideal candidate will have a broad skill set covering basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and general repairs, along with a proactive attitude towards identifying and resolving maintenance issues. Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine inspections and identify necessary repairs or maintenance for buildings and grounds.
- Conduct repairs related to plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general structural maintenance.
- Assist with basic electrical tasks, such as changing light bulbs, testing outlets, and minor wiring repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal functionality.
- Respond to urgent maintenance requests and work efficiently to resolve issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized tool inventory and work area.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance performed and materials used.
- Coordinate with external contractors when specialized repairs are required.




- Contribute to the overall upkeep and presentation of facilities in Kimberley.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar role with a broad range of repair skills.
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, often with changing priorities.
- Must be reliable and punctual, with a commitment to completing tasks.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, including occasional evenings or weekends.
- A valid driver's license is required for travel between sites in the Kimberley area.
- Ability to adapt to a hybrid work model, managing tasks remotely and performing on-site duties.
