The Bishop of Ontario is seeking an incumbent to serve the Parishes of St. Andrew’s, Wellington, and St. Philip’s, Milford, in beautiful Prince Edward County.

Located in southeastern Ontario, Prince Edward County offers a distinctive blend of rural landscapes, historic villages, farms, waterfront communities, and a vibrant arts, culinary, and cultural scene. Known for its wineries, local markets, outdoor recreation, and welcoming communities, the County provides an appealing setting for ministry, with Belleville and Quinte West approximately 25 minutes away and Kingston about an hour away.

St. Andrew’s, Wellington, is an active and welcoming congregation with a robust commitment to worship, fellowship, and service. Its church family values compassion, laughter, music, and opportunities to grow in faith together. A dedicated team of lay leaders and volunteers supports the life of the parish, while an extensive outreach ministry connects the church with the wider community. Monthly community suppers, a weekly school-year lunch program, a long-established thrift shop, and charitable giving through its endowment fund are among the many ways St. Andrew’s shares Christ’s love with its neighbours.

St. Philip’s, Milford, is a smaller, close-knit congregation where friendship, pastoral care, and a strong sense of family are central to parish life. With a longstanding tradition of lay ministry, traditional Anglican worship, and dedicated volunteers,

the parish continues to sustain an active presence in its community. Its outreach includes support for local charities, seniors, migrant workers, and food-security initiatives. St. Philip’s is eager to build on these foundations and explore new ways of sharing the Gospel and welcoming people into the life of the church.

Both parishes value the gifts and commitment of their congregations and are supported by active lay leaders. Current Sunday services are held at 9 a.m. at St. Philip’s and 11 a.m. at St. Andrew’s.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative and pastoral priest who values the distinctive character of each congregation, encourages lay leadership, and nurtures spiritual growth through preaching, worship, prayer, and Christian formation. The parishes seek a priest who will build on their traditions of hospitality and community service while helping them discern new opportunities for mission, evangelism, and growth.

This is an opportunity to serve two committed rural congregations, each with its own identity and strengths, while sharing in the life of a wider community that values connection, service, and a strong sense of place.

For further information, and a copy of the parish profiles, please contact The Ven. Jane Humphreys, Diocese of Ontario Executive Officer at [email protected] or (613) 777-0540.

Clergy from outside the Diocese of Ontario must have the permission of their diocesan bishop before applying.
