Provide professional nursing care at AgeCare Ballycliffe LTC Residence in Ajax as a casual Registered Practical Nurse with geriatric care expertise.
This Registered Practical Nurse delivers resident care according to medical requirements and skilled practice standards. The position directs Personal Support Workers and collaborates with Registered Nurses, physicians, healthcare partners, and other care team members. Knowledge of long-term care nursing, applicable legislation, and College of Nurses of Ontario standards supports the work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement AgeCare policies and procedures with Registered Nurses
- Liaise with physicians and external healthcare partners
- Notify physicians about significant resident status changes
- Direct Personal Support Workers on the care team
- Participate in shift reports and communicate resident changes
Requirements:
- Knowledge of geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing
- Understanding of activation, nursing, and personnel administration
- Knowledge of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal legislation
- Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses
- Membership in good standing with the College of Nurses
