Operate snowplows and heavy equipment with Ledcor Highways Ltd. while maintaining Alberta highways through the winter season.
This winter seasonal operator position runs from October 1 to April 30 across Alberta, with potential for year-round employment. You will help maintain provincial highways using snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment. The work supports highway safety while including labourer duties such as crack sealing, pothole repair, bridge cleaning, signage cleaning, and hazard remediation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and heavy equipment
- Maintain Alberta Provincial Highways during winter operations
- Assist with crack sealing and pothole repair
- Clean bridges and highway signage
- Work outside in all weather conditions
Requirements:
- Hold a valid Class 1, 2, or 3 license
- Possess an air endorsement and explicit three-year driver's abstract
- Complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Lift up to 50 pounds during physically demanding tasks
- Snowplow or wheel loader experience is an asset
