About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing national logistics company, is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee their fleet operations in Kimberley, Northern Cape. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient, secure, and cost-effective management of the company's transportation fleet. You will be responsible for fleet maintenance scheduling, driver management, fuel efficiency programs, compliance with regulations, and accident prevention. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fleet management, excellent leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of transportation logistics and South African road safety regulations. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of fleet operations within a dynamic company, contributing to their success in the Northern Cape region from Kimberley.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and maintain the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all vehicles.
- Oversee driver recruitment, training, performance management, and compliance with company policies.
- Implement and monitor fuel efficiency programs to reduce operational costs.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies for accident prevention and response.
- Manage relationships with vehicle suppliers, maintenance providers, and insurance companies.
- Track fleet performance metrics, including mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance costs,



and driver behavior.
- Develop and manage the fleet budget effectively.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of fleet operations in Kimberley.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent; a relevant diploma or certification in Logistics or Fleet Management is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, preferably within the logistics or transportation industry.
- Proven experience in managing diverse vehicle fleets and driver teams.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and fleet management software.
- Strong understanding of South African transportation laws and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Kimberley, Northern Cape.
