Support psychiatric assessment and stabilization at Ross Memorial Hospital as a Temporary Part Time Registered Practical Nurse in Lindsay, Ontario. Work twelve hour shifts.

This Registered Practical Nurse position serves the Mental Health Inpatient Unit, a Schedule 1 adult psychiatry short term unit. The multidisciplinary team provides nursing care, treatment, and activity programs. Applicants need psychiatric nursing experience, medication administration knowledge, and robust biopsychosocial assessment skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide nursing care within the Mental Health Inpatient Unit
- Support assessment, stabilization, and short term treatment
- Administer medications in psychiatric care settings
- Apply verbal and non verbal de escalation techniques




- Work within the multidisciplinary team

Requirements:

- Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Three years current psychiatric nursing experience with seriously mentally ill individuals
- Certificate or Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
- Current BCLS and Non Violent Crisis Intervention certification
- Excellent biopsychosocial assessment and psychopharmacologic treatment knowledge
