The role Lee CPA is hiring an Internal Auditor for our Thornhill office on a part-time or full-time basis (on site: Suite 610, 7191 Yonge Street, Thornhill, ON L3T 0C4; no remote or hybrid option). Much of our internal-audit work supports credit unions and similar financial institutions (governance, AML effectiveness, controls and quarterly internal-audit reporting). You will plan and execute internal audits, test controls, document findings, and write clear reports for management and boards. Pay and hours Full time: $90,000 to $120,000 per year (base salary), 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday), flexible start time between 8:00 and 10:00 AM. Placement in the range depends on experience. Part-time: $45.00 to $60.00 per hour, about 15-25 hours per week on a mutually agreed schedule within weekday business hours. Busy season may require additional hours within ESA rules. Number of openings: 1. Permanent. Start: as soon as possible / mutually agreed. Benefits Full-time: 4 weeks' paid vacation; health and dental coverage of $1,000 per year for you and $1,000 for your spouse ($2,000 per year in total); CPA dues and paid training by mutual agreement. Part-time: vacation pay at the ESA rate; other benefits by mutual agreement. What you will do
- Plan and perform internal audits of processes, controls, compliance and governance (including credit-union and financial-institution engagements)
- Evaluate risk management and internal control design and operating effectiveness
- Document walkthroughs, test results and findings; prepare clear, board-ready internal audit reports
- Follow up on prior findings and management action plans
- Support quality and documentation standards that align with professional and regulatory expectations
- Coordinate with client management, audit committees and Lee CPA engagement teams
- Use CaseWare (or similar)



and advanced Excel for working papers and analysis
- For part-time hires: deliver a defined portfolio of engagements within agreed weekly hours What you bring (required)
- About 3 or more years of relevant experience in internal audit, external audit/assurance, or risk and controls
- Strong analytical skills and clear written and spoken English for reports and client meetings
- Working knowledge of Canadian regulatory and professional expectations relevant to internal audit (credit-union or financial-institution experience is an asset)
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Able to work on site in Thornhill on the agreed schedule Assets (not required)
- CPA designation and/or CIA
- Direct credit-union, AML, or financial-institution internal-audit experience
- Experience at a national or international firm
- CaseWare Working Papers and advanced Excel
