Precious Eyes is an independent optometry clinic in Abbotsford, and we're growing our team. We're looking for an optician who enjoys helping people find glasses they love and see their best. You'll work side by side with our optometrist and front desk, so patients get one friendly, consistent experience from exam to pickup.

What you'll do
- Help patients choose frames that suit their prescription, face shape, lifestyle and budget
- Explain lens options (progressives, anti-glare, blue light, photochromic, high-index) in plain language
- Take accurate measurements, read prescriptions, and check finished lenses before they go out
- Cut and edge lenses, then fit, adjust and repair glasses on the spot
- Dispense contact lenses and teach patients how to insert and remove them
- Pre-test patients and hand off smoothly to the optometrist
- Book appointments, check patients in and out, take payments, and answer phone and email questions
- Bill extended health insurers, and explain coverage to patients
- Order lenses and frames from labs and suppliers, track orders, and follow up on pickups and adjustments
- Receive inventory and keep the frame board stocked, tidy and welcoming
- Suggest second pairs and sunglasses without pressure, and help meet monthly dispensing goals
- Handle warranty and remake issues calmly and keep good records
- Help train new optical assistants and co-op students, and pitch in with displays, social media and clinic routines




- Cover the front desk when it gets busy What we're looking for?
- Experience billing extended health insurers
- Strong frame-styling and customer service skills
- Comfortable with lab ordering and inventory
- Warm, patient and good with older adults and kids
- Detail-oriented, and comfortable on your feet and working with small tools
- A self-starter who can run the dispensary without close supervision, and a valuable team player
- Reliable and punctual, and able to work Saturday's
- Opticianry diploma, or currently studying to become an optician
- 1+ year of dispensing experience
- Contact lens fitting experience
