Our client is looking for a Senior Associate to join their team in downtown Toronto! This role is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys complex work, values teamwork, and takes pride in delivering thoughtful, strategic legal solutions. You will work alongside experienced professionals on sophisticated construction matters while continuing to expand your advocacy, analytical, and leadership skills.Duties include but are not limited to:
Manage and support a broad range of construction dispute matters from strategy through resolutionLead and assist with construction lien and trust claims, delay and deficiency disputes, and contract disputesAdvise on and advance matters under the Construction Act, including prompt-payment and adjudication proceedingsContribute to litigation, arbitration, mediation,
and dispute resolution proceedingsTake independent carriage of files with appropriate autonomyCollaborate with lawyers across multiple practice areas on multi-disciplinary mattersAbout You
The successful candidate will have the following:Minimum 3+ years of construction litigation or dispute resolution experienceWorking knowledge of the Construction Act (liens, holdbacks, trust claims, prompt payment and adjudication) an assetStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesSound qualified judgment and attention to detailA collaborative, team-oriented approachDemonstrated commitment to high-quality workInterest in ongoing professional growth and developmentAbout the Job
Hybrid role located (3 days) in Downtown Toronto, ONCompetitive salary ranging from $180,000 to $255,000 annuallyPlease note that all candidates must be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.
