Lead industrial automation projects with PLC programming and system commissioning in a hybrid position available across LAPORTE’s Canadian offices.As an Automation Engineer, you will manage planning, costs, schedules, design, programming, and commissioning for automated systems. You will support pharmaceutical, agri-food, industrial, and industrial biotech factories through consulting engineering services. The work combines technical design with project coordination and client needs.Key Responsibilities:
Define customer needs for automated engineering systemsDesign systems and select controls, instrumentation, and motor equipmentProgram, test, and commission automated systemsManage project planning, budgets, schedules, resources,



and change controlCoordinate interdisciplinary teams, suppliers, manufacturers, and contractorsRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in automated production or electrical engineeringProfessional Engineering Association membership in Alberta or British ColumbiaFive to six years of industrial automation experienceKnowledge of Allen Bradley, Rockwell, and Siemens productsPLC and user interface programming experienceBring industrial automation expertise, project leadership, PLC programming, and commissioning skills to LAPORTE’s Canadian engineering teams.
