Our partner is looking for a Shopping & Marketplace Strategist based in Canada.
We are looking for an experienced Shopping & Marketplace Strategist to lead high-impact digital advertising strategies for mid-market and enterprise clients across B2B and direct-to-consumer markets. In this role, you will oversee Shopping Ads, marketplace advertising, paid search, and paid social initiatives, driving measurable customer acquisition and revenue growth. You will manage strategic client accounts, guide campaign execution, and optimize complex product feeds across multiple advertising platforms. Working closely with marketing specialists and creative teams, you will develop data-driven strategies tailored to different buyer behaviors and commercial objectives. You will also serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, translating marketing performance into meaningful business outcomes. This is an opportunity to combine technical advertising expertise, strategic leadership, and client relationship management within a collaborative, remote-first environment.
Strategic Client Account Management: Take ownership of multiple client engagements, leading account strategy, performance diagnosis, marketing roadmaps, and revenue outcomes for mid-market and enterprise B2B manufacturers and distributors.
Shopping and Marketplace Strategy: Develop and oversee Shopping Ads strategies across Google, Microsoft, TikTok, Meta, and other relevant platforms, ensuring campaigns are tailored to complex B2B product catalogs and purchasing behaviors.
Lead product feed strategies using Feedonomics, GoDataFeed, or equivalent platforms, managing taxonomy, GTIN/MPN enrichment, attribute mapping, parent-child product architecture, and custom label implementation.
Build and optimize Shopping and Performance Max campaigns designed around B2B buyer behavior rather than traditional consumer purchasing patterns.
Paid Search and Paid Social Leadership: Develop full-funnel advertising strategies across Google, Microsoft, Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok to drive both DTC revenue and B2B customer acquisition.
Budget and Performance Optimization: Allocate advertising budgets according to business margins, customer lifetime value, and acquisition objectives rather than relying exclusively on platform-reported return on ad spend.
Audience and Targeting Strategy: Design advanced audience architectures using CRM integrations, first-party customer data, customer match, account-based audiences,
and lookalike strategies to distinguish current customer acquisition from existing account reorders.
Creative Strategy and Experimentation: Direct creative development and testing roadmaps in collaboration with specialists and design teams, leveraging product catalog ads, dynamic creative, and video to guide buyers from discovery to purchase or quote requests.
Measurement and Attribution: Own cross-channel measurement frameworks, connecting advertising platform data with ecommerce and CRM outcomes, including orders, quote requests, sales pipeline, and new customer acquisition.
Client Relationship Management: Act as the senior strategic point of contact for assigned accounts, leading bi-weekly client meetings, quarterly business reviews, proposal discussions, and additional strategic sessions.
Executive-Level Reporting: Translate channel performance into meaningful financial and commercial insights for senior stakeholders, including CFOs, Vice Presidents of Ecommerce, and Sales leaders.
Risk Identification: Proactively identify and address potential account and campaign risks, including channel conflicts, product feed degradation, reseller activity, distributor relationship issues, and marketplace Buy Box losses.
Contribute to the evolution of internal commerce marketing frameworks by documenting repeatable strategies, supporting audit deliverables, developing sales enablement materials, and delivering internal training.
Partner with senior leadership and marketing specialists to improve campaign execution, strengthen operational processes, and advance the broader commerce strategy.
Performance Objectives: Maintain strong account performance, targeting 100% attainment of established business objectives, customer satisfaction scores above 4.5, client retention above 90%, and at least one documented methodology contribution per quarter.
Strong understanding of Shopping Ads, paid search, and paid social advertising across Google, Microsoft, Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
Ability to develop and manage full-funnel marketing strategies that connect advertising performance to revenue growth, profitability, customer acquisition, and customer lifetime value.
Experience managing client accounts independently, setting strategic direction, and overseeing execution in collaboration with specialists and senior team members.
Experience with product feed architecture, audience segmentation, CRM integrations, first-party data activation, and cross-channel attribution.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex campaign data and transform performance insights into actionable business recommendations.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting strategic recommendations and financial performance insights to C-suite executives and senior decision-makers.
Experience participating in consultative sales processes, including client discovery, marketing audits, proposal development, and strategic planning.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage several client engagements and competing priorities simultaneously.
Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment and collaborate effectively through virtual communication and project management platforms.
Attractive base salary aligned with experience, expertise, and market benchmarks.
Medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families.
Physical therapy services through Omada, access to thousands of Aaptiv virtual workouts, and a complimentary One Medical membership for primary and virtual healthcare.
Flexible paid time off: Additional holidays: Paid company holidays, a day off for your birthday, and an annual end-of-year recharge period from December 24 through January 1.
Parental leave: Paid parental leave to support employees and their families.
Retirement savings: Annual bonus: Tenure-based annual bonus, with the total amount increasing over time.
Remote-first flexibility: Work entirely remotely from your home office in Canada.
Join a people-first environment that values diversity, collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
