About the Role

Our client, a respected leader in the FMCG manufacturing industry, is looking for a highly meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead their quality control and assurance functions in Kimberley, Northern Cape . This essential role is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and improving the company's quality management systems to ensure all products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in QA within an FMCG production environment, a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, and excellent leadership skills. This is a critical, on-site role in Kimberley , focused on upholding the integrity and reputation of our client's brands.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and manage the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP, GMP).
- Oversee all quality control activities, including raw material inspection, in-process checks, and finished product testing.
- Establish and monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as needed.
- Lead and manage the Quality Assurance team, providing training, guidance, and performance management.
- Conduct internal audits and facilitate external audits by regulatory bodies and customers.
- Ensure all products meet stringent safety, regulatory, and customer specifications.
- Manage product traceability and recall procedures.
- Stay updated on all relevant local and international regulations and standards affecting the FMCG industry.




- Collaborate with Production, R&D;, and Supply Chain teams to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Champion a quality-first culture throughout the manufacturing facility in Kimberley .

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control, with at least 4 years in a managerial role within the FMCG manufacturing sector.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with QMS standards such as ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP, and FSSC 22000.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and laboratory testing procedures.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving related to quality issues.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Experience in conducting internal and external audits.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with the Northern Cape region's industrial landscape is a plus.
