Our energy organization client is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to maintain project financials and cost control using SAP

Join a Project Controls team supporting system and customer-funded transmission projects across the full lifecycle, including AESO Direct Assign (DA) and Behind‑the‑Fence initiatives. The role maintains project financial data, executes cost control, and collaborates with Project Management, Finance, Regulatory, Procurement, and external consultants, contractors, and EPC service providers. This is an on‑site, Mon–Fri contract in Calgary with a 1-year term and an intended start in early November.

Must Haves

- 1+ years of experience in Project Controls, Project Accounting, Cost Control, or a related project support role within the energy or utilities sector.
- Proficient in Excel; ability to learn SAP ERP modules (Finance, Controlling, Project Systems, Materials Management, Plant Maintenance)
- Post secondary Degree or related combination of education and experience

Nice to Have

- EPC/EPCm experience
- GAAP in a regulatory setting
- Accounting practices in a regulated Utility

Responsibilities

- Set up and maintain projects in SAP per defined standards
- Prepare financial project controls for project set-up, estimates, forecasts, billings, and close‑out
- Interface with Project Managers, Delivery Teams, and vendors to align cost estimates and forecasts with schedules
- Perform cost analysis and report on financial performance
- Prepare and ensure the integrity of project cost reports
- Ensure execution of change control management follows procedures
