Lead cybersecurity incident response and security monitoring at Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, with work from home available up to two days weekly.

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure Services, this specialist guides operations and security within the IIT department. The work includes security alerts, vulnerability reporting, access management, forensic investigations, and cyber safety training. The role also supports secure systems and communications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor security alerts, firewall traffic, and cyber threat activity
- Lead security incident management and response activities
- Investigate forensic evidence from devices, servers, and traffic
- Evaluate vulnerabilities and report findings to senior leadership




- Respond to emergency security operations calls during rotational on-call shifts

Requirements:

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum five years administering Exchange, SQL, clustering, and cloud solutions
- Knowledge of incident, malware, vulnerability, and security management
- Technical experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation
- Certification such as CISM, Security+, CISSP, CISA, or GSEC
