As an Occupational Therapist I, you will provide primarily clinical services for individuals living with dementia, psychiatric illnesses, and medical comorbidities. Your practice includes client-centred case management, discharge planning, cognitive assessments, and rehabilitation across wide-ranging clinical areas. You will collaborate with hospital staff, community agencies, and an interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete functional assessments and occupational therapy treatments
- Provide client-centred case management and discharge planning
- Deliver cognitive assessments and rehabilitation interventions
- Consult with hospital staff and community agencies
- Supervise therapist assistant staff during rehabilitation delivery
Requirements:
- Graduate of an Occupational Therapy program or recognized equivalent
- Active registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Level C certification
- Experience working in acute care preferred
- Experience with geriatric psychiatry populations preferred
