General Manager – Transportation & Logistics

Location: Calgary, AB
Salary: $110,000–$150,000 + Performance Bonus + Advantages

We are seeking a hands‑on General Manager to lead transportation and logistics operations, manage a team, and drive improvements in efficiency, profitability, and overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 10–20 employees across operations and related functions.
- Oversee daily trucking, dispatch, fleet, driver, and logistics operations.
- Improve fleet utilization, driver productivity, service levels, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor operating costs, revenue, gross margins, and key performance indicators.
- Work closely with Finance and senior management to review financial results, budgets, forecasts, and variances.




- Identify and implement cost‑saving initiatives to improve profitability and strengthen cash flow.
- Establish performance targets and promote accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and transportation partners.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

What We're Looking For

- 5+ years of progressive experience in trucking, transportation, or logistics.
- Mandatory trucking industry experience with a strong understanding of dispatch, drivers, fleet, and transportation operations.
- Proven experience leading a transportation or fleet operations team.
- Strong business acumen and an understanding of how operational decisions affect profitability.
- Experience monitoring operating expenses, budgets, margins, or other financial performance metrics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- A hands‑on management style with the ability to balance daily operations and long‑term business objectives.
