About the Role

Our client, a prominent retail and distribution company, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Operations Manager specializing in Distribution and Logistics to join their team in Kimberley, Northern Cape . This critical role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the distribution network, including warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and last-mile delivery. The successful candidate will drive operational efficiency, implement cost‑saving measures, and ensure the timely and accurate fulfillment of orders. Key Responsibilities

- Manage and optimize all distribution center operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for inventory management and control.
- Oversee transportation and logistics functions, ensuring efficient and cost‑effective delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of warehouse and logistics staff.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for distribution and logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, security,



and regulatory standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage relationships with third‑party logistics providers and vendors.
- Utilize technology and systems to improve operational visibility and control.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and sales, to align logistics strategies.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in distribution and logistics operations management.
- Proven experience in managing large‑scale warehousing and transportation operations.
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Proficiency in relevant logistics and supply chain software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote and on‑site responsibilities.
- Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
- Experience with e‑commerce fulfillment is a plus.
