This Electrical Design Drafter role supports Electrical Engineers across commercial building projects. You will develop power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage documentation while coordinating architectural, structural, and mechanical designs. The work requires technical accuracy and code awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce floor plans, schematics, panel schedules, and single-line diagrams
- Assist engineers with design concepts and electrical calculations
- Coordinate electrical designs across multiple building disciplines
- Prepare bills of quantities and material lists
- Review contractor shop drawings and project submittals
Requirements:
- Diploma or certificate in electrical engineering technology or draughting
- Minimum three years’ electrical drafting experience
- Essential AutoCAD proficiency; Revit MEP experience desirable
- Understanding of commercial power, lighting, and low-voltage systems
- Familiarity with South African standards and building codes
