Lead safe Primary Utilities operations at Stelco’s Lake Erie Works in Nanticoke, Ontario, applying technical problem-solving and maintenance leadership.

As Shift Manager, also identified as Shift Engineer, you will maintain facilities, equipment, and personnel safely and efficiently. You will supervise experienced technicians, apprentices, co-ops, project planners, bargaining unit personnel, service groups, and contractors. The position supports equipment reliability through preventive maintenance, technical evaluation, reporting, and coordination. Robust communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are central to the work.

Key Responsibilities:

- Administer the company safety program within operating facilities
- Promote safety through contacts, tours, investigations, and reviews
- Ensure environmental procedures, codes,



and standards are followed
- Coordinate maintenance teams repairing and maintaining mill equipment
- Develop preventive maintenance programs using equipment history

Requirements:

- TSSA 2nd class Power Engineer Certificate
- Two or more years’ supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Heavy industrial or unionized environment experience is an asset
- Knowledge of electrical or mechanical maintenance practices
- Proficiency in MS Office and strong communication skills
