Build Python and Django services at Vantage, using advanced SQL and external APIs across a remote-first team based in Toronto.
As a Senior Engineer, you will build backend features, integrations, and production APIs. You will support product teams through architecture, code quality, database performance, and delivery guidance. The work includes My SQL or Postgres, Docker, Circle CI, cloud platforms, and B2 B API integrations.
Key Responsibilities: Design and ship reliable Python and Django backend services
Build partner connectors with authentication, rate limiting, and retries
Review queries, indexes, and data access patterns
Diagnose production issues using logs, metrics, and traces
Mentor engineers through pairing and design reviews
Requirements: Six or more years of qualified software development experience
Advanced SQL expertise beyond ORM usage
Strong Python and Django production experience
Experience with My SQL, Postgres, Docker, and Circle CI
Experience troubleshooting performance and production code
