Senior Accountant (Continuing)

School District No. 42 (SD42) meets the learning needs of approximately 17,000 students of all ages in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, and is defined by its determination to keep student learning and growth at the heart of all its decisions. With an annual budget of over $200M and over 2,000 staff, the school district provides K-12 educational services in 22 elementary schools, six secondary schools, and two alternate schools. It also provides a variety of certificate programs and relevant quality life-long learning opportunities through Ridge Meadows College and Continuing Education.

SD42 is looking for qualified applicants interested in working as a Senior Accountant at our District Education Office. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant performs the necessary tasks to ensure the timely completion and distribution of accounting records, financial data and analyses, budgets and projections. Reviews,



analyzes and processes a variety of accounting data and source documents.

This is a full-time continuing position effective November 9, 2026. This position works 35 hours per week, following a 12-month schedule. The rate of pay is $39.71/Hour, plus a comprehensive advantages package.

Responsibilities:

ACCOUNTING:

1. Maintains the general ledger chart of accounts; and advises payroll and human resources on use of general ledger chart of accounts.
2. Reviews, analyzes and processes data transfers between a variety of systems and the accounting system. (i.e. transaction uploads/downloads). Reviews, analyzes and processes the interface from the payroll system into the general ledger system and liaises with the payroll and HR departments to resolve all interfacing issues.
3. Performs complex general ledger
