Provide surgical admission and phase II recovery care at Oak Valley Health using critical thinking, prioritization, and patient advocacy skills. Work within an interprofessional team.

As a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Admission and Discharge Unit, you will care for adult and pediatric surgical patients. The position requires current surgical nursing experience, solid assessment abilities, and patient and family centred practice. You will support safe care across preoperative and postoperative experiences while contributing as a resource and role model. Oak Valley Health serves communities through Markham Stouffville Hospital, Uxbridge Hospital, and the Reactivation Care Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

- Admit adult and pediatric surgical patients




- Provide phase II postoperative recovery care
- Participate actively in patient safety
- Advocate for patients throughout their care experience
- Work effectively within an interprofessional team

Requirements:

- Current College of Nurses of Ontario registration
- Current BCLS certification
- Two years of current day surgery experience
- Recent preoperative and postoperative surgical care experience
- Excellent physical assessment and computer skills
