As an Applied AI Research Scientist, you will help make CIBC’s AI vision real through research and production systems. The Applied AI Research team covers the full research life cycle, from academic collaboration to implementation. You will explore AI capabilities while working with scientists, engineers, and product leaders.
Key Responsibilities: Explore and develop capabilities of AI and Generative AI models
Apply advanced research in NLP and deep learning
Integrate tools for large generative model development
Drive strategic direction through cross-functional collaboration
Collaborate with faculty members in relevant AI research
Requirements: Track record of impactful projects and top-tier publications
Knowledge of pretraining, post-training, and foundation models
Research experience with transformer-based sequence modeling
Robust coding skills with GPU-accelerated model training
Ph D in deep learning or related discipline, or equivalent
Bring research depth in Generative AI, NLP, and foundation models to CIBC’s Applied AI team in Toronto.
