As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you will guide Kubernetes platform strategy across cluster lifecycle, node management, and shared components. You will automate operations through Terraform, Spacelift, and self-service workflows while supporting reliable workloads. The work spans AWS architecture, observability, policy enforcement, and technical leadership across teams.
Key Responsibilities: Architect and evolve Affirm’s EKS platform strategy
Lead standardized provisioning, upgrades, teardown, and self-service workflows
Own reliability for shared Kubernetes components and delivery pipelines




Enforce workload safety standards and automated policy defaults
Mentor engineers and participate in production incident response
Requirements: 10+ years in software or infrastructure engineering
6+ years operating production Kubernetes at scale
Deep EKS, Kubernetes, AWS, and autoscaling expertise
Terraform, GitOps, and policy enforcement experience
Expert proficiency in Go or Python
Lead Affirm’s scalable Kubernetes platform through EKS architecture, automation, reliability standards, observability, and technical mentorship.
