Cascade Environmental Consulting is seeking an industrial hygienist to join our team in Edmonton.

With over forty years of experience delivering environmental health and safety consulting throughout Alberta, Cascade is offering the opportunity to work alongside an experienced team consisting of CRSPs and CMCs as well as other well-educated health and safety professionals.

The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering industrial hygiene and occupational health and safety consulting to our diverse client network. Including utilizing technical expertise to advise and perform project planning, supervision and management. You will work closely with our consulting team to conduct, interpret, and maintain employee health and regulatory compliance with OH&S; legislation. Hours of Work and Travel

In Person

Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime and out of town work based on site requirements. Travel to client sites within Edmonton will be required for daily site inspections and may be required for projects out of town. Mileage is reimbursed and premiums for applicable projects. Per diem is also provided for qualifying out-of-town work.

Remote

While an in-person position is preferred, a remote applicant may be considered, provided they are able to satisfy all requirements and are available daily for review and coordination with our team.

Your Role as an Industrial Hygienist

Work to support consultants on-site work through a review process for general occupational hygiene,



hazardous material inventory reports and more. In addition, work will include project planning,

- Apply understanding of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations and standards.
- Provide technical direction, guidance, and quality assurance for project work and reporting.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage industrial hygiene and occupational health and safety projects.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, work plans, and requirements.
- Review and provide technical instruction on detailed inspection reports to communicate results and discussion to clients.
- Develop and review work procedures and control plans regarding occupational health and safety.
- Professionally communicate technical findings professionally to a variety of clients.

Required Qualifications and Experience

- Certification of either Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH).
- Minimum of five years experience in environmental health and safety, specifically consulting or related field.
- Post-secondary education in environmental science or relevant field.
- Experience assessing projects for hazards including asbestos, lead, and other hazardous materials.
- Experience developing safe work procedures, control plans, and other health and safety documentation.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and managing health and safety projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly with Word and Excel.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
